Residents of Asmara called upon to practice prudent handling of sewage lines



Asmara, 29 August 2013 – The Municipal Administration of Asmara city has called on the residents to practice prudent handling of sewage lines, and thus the need to raise their awareness to this end.

Mr. Haileab Melles from the office noted the vitality of proper handling as regards management of sewage system and latrines in public health, and pointed out that solid waste materials should be treated separately. He further indicated that a total of 188 new sewage lines have been installed to the main routes in the northern and southern parts of the city, besides the renovation of  more than 6.5 Km-long line.
Among the city residents, Ms. Tiblets Gebremariam, Mr. Abdulkerim Seid and Mr. Tsegai Kiflai called on fellow residents to adhere to judicious handling of toilets and sewage lines so as to promote community wellbeing. They also disclosed that the residents of Aba-Shaul took the initiative of constructing and renovating latrines for needy families.
Ms. Dehab Abai from the Administration of Aba-Shaul area said that the desired norm thereof needs to be nurtured on the basis of families.
